Big Changes - a return to nature
Dec 14, 2025
Seven inches of snow fell upon the landscape as I slept peacefully last night. I’m adjusting to a quieter, more peaceful life, one that is more closely aligned with my values, with my love and respect for nature and for celestial synchronicity. The last two years challenged me to dig deeply within and to discover the degree of my resilience when faced with tragedy and loss. It was my inner artist who guided me through to where I am now, urging me to consistently step forward each and every day, regardless of how small each step might be.
The shards of shattered faith and love have been swept from the floors and tumbled with pen and brush until the edges are no longer sharp. I hold them in my hands, give them a shake and toss them onto the ground. A beautiful, colorful mosaic appears, reflecting the light of the sun or the moon. The mosaic reveals a story yet to be told, the map of new directions to follow and previous paths to explore again.
There is no longer time in my life, nor the desire, to continue maintaining my website as it is. Fields, forests, seas and mountains … cities, villages, friends and strangers call out to me to listen and to share the precious time that I previously devoted to sitting at my laptop.
The current website will close down on or around March 1st 2026. Those who wish to continue taking my online classes will find a few on Skillshare.com and CraftCourses.com. I will teach a few live workshops and mini workshops throughout the year. I love teaching and the energy created by several artists physically being in a space together, sharing, encouraging and inspiring one another.
As you may have noticed, I’ve hardly posted on Instagram since the spring of this year. I’ll continue to stay on Instagram. As for a blog, I haven’t decided which of the three previous blogs I’ll return to using; BizarreHorizons.com , Third Time Around or Creative Color . I may or may not use all three.
If you are currently registered for any of my website courses, I recommend you learn as much as you can from them before the website closes down. The domain ChrisCarterArt.com will be redirected to my ArtworkArchives site where I’ve kept records of my inventory and various collections of artwork for many years now. You can currently arrive there by going to ArtByChrisCarter.com .
I want to thank all of you have followed me and supported me throughout the years. My hope is that we might share even more with one another as I move forward in this crazy experience we call living. Perhaps we can help one another learn to walk hand in hand with our inner artist rather than keep her hidden inside, whispering to us rather than singing aloud about the mystery and miracle of life.
