January 2024 Studio Flood Disaster
I returned from a trip on January 13, 2024 to discover my studio and filming room had been flooded three days before and left unattended, allowing the water to be wicked up by wood, paper and fabric destroying a lifetime of art and materials. A shocking and sad time. Also, a cleansing time ... a time to let go of the past and to make room for an even greater adventure into the future. I'm looking forward to watching how this tragedy will transform my art into something even more meaningful to myself and to others. A special thank you to John Mullaney and his dump trunk & chain.

Dala Art as Travel Journal
Creating Dala Art in a sketchbook is an excellent method to sharpen your drawing skills, your Pulling The Puddle techniques in watercolor, to illustrate a journey, to think of the world around you in an altered form and to simply have fun sketching wherever you find yourself.

Parapainting
Mike (my son) and I share a passion for flying. I jumped out of an airplane the day after I turned 21, having promised my parents I wouldn't jump before then. The equipment was far too heavy and the ride down to earth far too short to satisfy my dream of flying with the birds. Paragliding is the answer! The videos above are as follows: Top Left: (my first launch flying tandem with Mike and using my original Parapainting Body Easel Set-Up. Top Right: Painting with the first Body Easel aerial studio, paragliding at Mission. Bottom Left: Launch at Dunlap and painting with redesigned Aerial Studio. Bottom Right: A funky version of more parapainting at Dunlap.

Painting While On The Move
My favorite train is the Amtrak Coast Starlight that travels from Seattle, Washington to Los Angelos and Los Angeles to Seattle. Each day, one train heads north and another train heads south. The trip is 36 hours. It makes only a few stops along the way. I often take it between Los Angeles to San Jose (12 hours) or between San Jose and Seattle (24 hours). The views are amazing! I am inspired by the patterns that are created by natural forces, by manmade forces as well as the combination of natural and manmade. Top Left and Top Right videos: I'm sketching while riding the Coast Starlight train. Bottom Left: Creating a polyhedron on the strain from Mountain View to San Francisco and a few of the StreetSmartGeometry projects. Bottom Right: Auto Art - Sketching in a car on the way to Gower Peninsula, South Wales.

Leading Up To ... and the Start of a New Creative Process
I've strung many short videos together to make this twenty-four minute documentation of the series that led up to, and the stages that followed, my visit to Parc André Citroën that led to an exciting and satisfying new creative process that continues to work well for me in my studio. I create these videos so that I can refer back to them on a fairly regular basis. It helps me to remember where I've come from and to choose to either stay on, or step off, the path I am currently exploring.
Morning Scribbler Videos
The four videos above are from my Morning Scribbler Series. The first three (top left; top right; bottom left) are all from the same morning. Top left is the first sketch of the kitchen cupboard clutter, top right is sketch two of the kitchen cupboard clutter and bottom left is a video showing three different flexible nib fountain pens in action. Bottom right is a montage of a whole week of morning scribbler sketches.
